From the moment we arrived, the stunning estate, with its beautifully restored grounds, panoramic views of the Napa Valley, and Howard Backen-designed winery and caves, set the tone for a truly luxurious yet welcoming afternoon.
Our host, Alex, was exceptional. He made us feel like honored guests right away—warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the wines and the property. Alex guided us through a fascinating behind-the-scenes tour of the picturesque vineyards, the state-of-the-art winery, and the expansive 11,000-square-foot cave system. His stories brought the history, beautiful art, and winemaking process to life, and he answered every question with enthusiasm and expertise. Whether it was sharing insights into the Davis family’s vision or highlighting the artistry behind the wines, Alex elevated the entire experience.
The private seated tasting was the star of the show. We enjoyed their most revered reserve wines, including those crafted by Walter Leiva and the exclusive Phase V collection by Philippe Melka. Each pour was perfectly paired with a luxurious, multi-course menu from the culinary team—thoughtfully prepared dishes that complemented the wines beautifully and felt like fine dining in wine country. The pairings were creative, flavorful, and far beyond typical tasting bites. Everything from the ambiance in the private tasting area to the seamless flow of the experience felt personal and indulgent.
