点评：Have seen a number of concerts here over the years including one of my favourites- Bruckner’s 7th. But had to comment after last nights production of Stravinsky’s The Firebird.
The overview of the work that preceded the concert was entertaining and informative. The orchestra then played without sheet music and with most standing for 30 minutes. The music was sublime. As were the two earlier works.
For the first time due to a road closure we arrived 2 minutes before kick off. But always trying to book the same seats allowed my wife and I to get seated with minimal embarrassment.
The venue acoustics are second to none. As are the interval ice creams. Advise you bring a seat cushion or sit on your coat as the seats are not the most comfortable. A shout out to the car parking staff as the car parks were rammed. But we got a space that allowed us to exit quickly.
Whatever you do add a Snape concert to your list. You won’t be disappointed.
