I went down to the platform, and the train arrived at 11:12 PM. After boarding, a staff member approached and asked me to move to the train on the opposite platform, which turned out to be the KLIA Transit, not the Ekspres service I had paid for.
Before I could board that train, the doors closed, and the staff then asked us to get back onto the original train. Only after this confusion was an announcement made saying that they were combining the Transit and Ekspres services, meaning the Ekspres train would now operate as a normal transit train instead.
This is unacceptable. I specifically paid for the Ekspres service for a faster, direct journey, and if this had been communicated earlier, I could have simply taken a Grab back to the city instead of wasting time sitting on the train while more passengers kept boarding.
What made it worse was the lack of prior notice and poor communication from both the staff and the system displays. The train that was supposed to leave at 11:15 PM only eventually departed at 11:35 PM, turning what should have been a fast and seamless journey into an unnecessarily frustrating experience.
Very disappointing from a service I normally trust and recommend. I hope the team improves communication and informs passengers well in advance whenever there are operational changes.
