点评:I attended a track day at Luddenham. The sign in process was OK and we proceeded to the track and briefing. The day started late and the track did not open until 09:20. One session completed and when going out on track there was an oil slick covering turns 1 and 2 and I mean a slick! An oil filter was laying on the apex of turn 2! The session was not immediately red flagged and there were no oil flags. I see this as a serious safety issue. No warnings, a large metallic object on the track and clearly not fit to drive on. Eventually the 'staff' worked it out and red flagged the session. The clean up consisted of 4 team members of an average age of probably 15 dumping cement around 90% of the track and then casually pushing a broom over it for the next 2 plus hours. Whilst I appreciate this kind of issue can happen, the level of effort to actually resolve it was lacking. After dumping cement and blowing it off, they then started the same on the paddock, all the time the circuit still closed. Eventually, the circuit re-opened after midday. Which session is sent out? Not the one that was running on the oil, but the next group. By 12:45 after arriving at 07:30 I had done 2 laps on a dangerous circuit at walking speed. The organisation is lacking. When eventually it came to our groups turn they even called the wrong group who had already had 2 sessions. This prompted half the paddock to walk across and tell the staff their mistake, which they resolved. It is a pity as we need more motorsport venues in NSW however I had plenty of time to talk to other customers during the oil break and feedback was not great. Be prepared if you attend Luddneham and have an incident of any kind you are likely to be hit with a hefty bill for repairs to the circuit. In closing, I would like to acknowledge the staff did volunteer to keep the track open an hour longer to compensate for the 2 plus hours lost, and keep the ambulance there. The place just needs better organisation and having young kids run the event is in my mind not the greatest idea.
