Great Travel Experience in Tunisia with Engaging Cultures - good guide and driver makes a difference!
Engaging Cultures Travel Tunisia - Day Tours的点评
点评：We traveled to Tunisia on an 11 day itinerary. From the get-go, Jonathan from Engaging Cultures was very helpful, organised and responsive in putting our itinerary together.
Our guide was Aicha and our driver was Fauzi, both were great!
Fauzi was friendly, punctual and kept a clean vehicle. Sometimes we had to circle back to places due to various reasons but Fauzi was obliging.
Aicha was very knowledgeable, friendly, took great photos and a problem solver. She also took note of festivals/events that may be happening during our visit and ensured that we got to partake in it even though it may not be part of the itinerary per se. For example, the International Festival of the Sahara in Douz, and we even got up close with the sloughi dogs, etc.
The itinerary was comprehensive, and we visited many great sites such as Dougga, Thuburgo Majus, Sbeitla, El Jem, etc. The desert camping was also an interesting experience and we were very glad to have done it. The beautiful sunset and sunrise in the desert were worth it. We also managed to squeeze in a visit to the Bardo Museum and the gorgeous mosaics were a real treat.
The misses - We did not get to visit the Sousse Archaeological Museum and El Ghriba Synagogue in Djerba due to misalignment of the opening times and the itinerary schedule; this wasn't noted until it was too late. Our accommodation in Sousse was not good and lacking in basic service and comfort. But Engaging Cultures was receptive to feedback and these few misses did not detract from the overall trip experience which was great.
Overall, Engaging Cultures did a very good job in putting things together for us, they as well as our guide and driver really do make a difference and was why we enjoyed our trip to Tunisia, a really under-rated travel destination.
