Bleaker Island的点评
点评：Nick, Paula and everyone on Bleaker are just as amazing as the wildlife and peace you’ll find on the Island. We never imagined that every day we spent on the Island, we would see all six different types of penguins possible on the Falkland Islands! In fact, everything we hoped to see on the Falkland Islands was on the Island - fully living up to and surpassing the flora and fauna lists advertised by the Bleaker brochures from the Tourist Office. (Particular highlights for us: Johnny Rooks, Striated Caracara, Giant Petrels, Oystercatchers, Sea Lions, Tussac-Birds, Imperial Cormorants, Rock Cormorants, Meadowlarks, Magellanic Snipe, Night heron, Upland goose, Skua!) It’s an incredible experience to have such a rich wildlife experience all to yourself. But it wasn’t just the wildlife but the people on Bleaker who went the extra mile to create a comfortable and warm environment to stay off the beaten path. We stayed in the mobile home- this was not “ruffing it”, the accommodations were up to standards of staying anywhere more connected to populated tourists areas - with the exception of the delicious food and hospitality, where Bleaker shines beyond the rest. We ate so well and appreciated all the efforts by the staff to make life in a remote location so comfortable. We were concerned about the availability of water (hot and potable), heat, lights, internet, access to supplies - we had zero issues! We couldn’t be more grateful for everyone on Bleaker sharing our enthusiasm for wildlife, helping us see everything on the Island and learn all about the animals and environment. The tour of the Island Nick provides shortly after landing is helpful to orient and supplied maps helped us navigate around when we went off exploring on our own via rental 4x4. Go to Bleaker for a magical and memorable time with great people, delicious food, peace and quiet and incredible wildlife!
