点评：Today we went on the Key West Historic Seaport Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour by Key West Food Tours. Sharon was our guide. She was fabulous and kept our group of 8 laughing and learning all about Key West. We booked through Trip Advisor and there wasn’t an alcohol package offered, so we purchased our drinks on site. This was considerably more expensive. Lesson learned, check the business website to compare prices and see if there is an add on package. Key West Food Tours is incredibly accommodating to us. I thought I had booked for January 28. We weren’t on this list. It turned out I had accidentally booked our tour for February 28! The company amended our tickets and we were good to go!
Be sure to come HUNGRY to this tour. We do walk between places, so you can make room for the next dish! We met our guide at Garbo’s Grill @Hanks. Here we enjoyed a Mahi Mahi Taco and a rum punch! Both were delicious! We then walked to the Cuban Coffee Queen, where we were treated to a Cuban Mix Sandwich. This was the best Cuban sandwich I have ever had. Afterwards we went into two authentic Cuban family businesses, the Kino Sandals and a Cuban Cigar shop. Both were interesting. Walking through the neighborhoods, we learned the stories about several homes. We then stopped into a Tiki Bar and had a delicious margarita type drink called a Zombie. It was on FIRE, literally!! Our next stop was at Bagatelle, where we enjoyed lobster mac and cheese. We learned that Key West lobsters are savory, while Maine lobsters have a sweeter taste. We then walked along the boardwalk and ended up at Eaton St Seafood Market. Here we enjoyed a glass of wine with a Key West Pink shrimp cocktail. We finished our tours with Key Lime pie at Kermit’s. This tour took about 3 hours and all of the places are off the beaten path that we probably wouldn’t have found without a tour. We also learned cultural tidbits of Key West along the way! I wouldn’t hesitate booking again with this company. They have several food tours available!
