Come here before the Acropolis
雅典卫城博物馆的点评
点评：We came as a family before ascending the Acropolis. A great way to spend an hour or so before your entry ticket time to the climb up.
I’ll let you discover the museum yourself but here are some learnings from our visit.
You will need to go through security and place any items in the scanner before you can enter the ticket hall. If you aren’t buying individual tickets, go slightly left of the individual ticket purchase cue as this made for a faster purchase for a family of five. Students / U18 will need ID for a discounted ticket. A screenshot / photo of the passport page sufficed.
If you have any bags the size of a backpack or larger you will need to check them in. The cloak room is to the right of the ticketed entrance. There are bathrooms here also that aren’t as crowded as inside.
The video presentation is a must as it will give you a great insight into to the Acropolis and its history. It isn’t too long and has plenty of seating available. It will alternate Greek and English narration with subtitles.
Keep your ticket. For some reason when you enter the gift store or restaurant the staff check you have a ticket on the way back in. Additionally you will need it when you leave to main museum halls and want to visit the basement exhibition.
Be aware my kids reported seeing two not very good pick pocketers honing their craft with usually elderly people, however I did not witness this myself.
