After being let down at the last minute by another dive centre, Dive Gizo completely saved our trip and then exceeded every expectation. If you’re diving in Gizo, I highly recommend booking with Dive Gizo and skipping the others.
Sally (the owner) was incredible. She took me on board at very short notice and made everything perfect.
My partner doesn’t scuba dive, and Dive Gizo still made it amazing for him. The snorkeling was fantastic, he could see wrecks, coral, and loads of marine life, and felt included in the whole day rather than left on the sidelines.
Even though conditions weren’t perfect (the water was murky and visibility wasn’t great), I had the two best dives, and that’s saying a lot given I’ve dived the Great Barrier Reef (Australia), Koh Tao (Thailand), Fiji, Vanuatu, and multiple locations in Brazil. Nothing has compared to the Solomon Islands sites we did with Dive Gizo, especially:
- Grand Central Station near Njari Island
- The Toa Maru wreck
My Dive Master was outstanding, calm, highly knowledgeable. He taught me so much about the area (suggested us to go to Simbo for a volcano hike adventure which was a huge highlight for our holiday!). He even helped me stay steady and still so I could properly admire everything around me. We saw manta rays, reef sharks, and huge schools of fish, breathtaking.
To top it all off, they offered a BBQ at Njari Island, and it was one of the best meals of our trip. The Spanish mackerel was unbelievably fresh and perfectly cooked. Njari Island is also clearly cared for by Sally and her team, beautifully maintained, and it felt great supporting a local business that is actively looking after the environment and nature.
We had the most fantastic experience with Dive Gizo and can’t wait to come back and dive again.
