What a satisfying way to spend time in Oswego - and our grandkids enjoyed it too!

点评：My husband and I took our grandkids, ages 12 and 9. They told us they had an awesome time. A pontoon boat (maximum 6 guests) to and from the lighthouse. It's a short 15 minute ride. It's behind the retaining wall so it's not out in the open lake - so it's a bit smoother ride. As you travel to each floor you are with a volunteer that explains everything you are seeing. They are knowledgeable and you can tell they love what they are doing. The captains also tell history and anecdotes on the ride to and from during the boat ride. Our entire trip took 1 hour and 15 minutes. It wasn't too long where the grandkids got bored. It moved along and with the limit of only 6 to a group makes it a more personal experience.
The entire lighthouse is being refurbished, and it's close to being finished. It's amazing Oswego has found a group of very dedicated volunteers to do this. It's a little city at all and to have enough people volunteer for this is wonderful. In fact, EVERYONE we met, which included the ladies where we checked in, were so friendly. The ALL love what they are doing.
As a bonus, you get tickets to the H. Lee White Maritime Museum just around the corner. They are good for the calendar year (It's August and ours are good till December). We did not leave enough time to go to both. I wish we did, and plus - we were all hungry. BUT we live close and will definitely come back to go to the museum.
Hungry? Make sure you stop at Canales Restaurant for excellent Italian food. It's a 5 minute drive from the marina. I highly recommend it. We always leave time to stop there when we visit Oswego.

作为额外福利，我们还得到了就在附近的H. Lee White海事博物馆的门票。这些门票在当年内都有效（现在是8月，我们的门票有效期到12月）。可惜我们没有留出足够的时间去参观两个地方。真希望我们能去成，而且——我们当时都饿坏了。不过我们住得近，以后肯定还会再来参观博物馆。
饿了吗？一定要去Canales餐厅尝尝美味的意大利菜。那里离码头只有5分钟车程。我极力推荐这家餐厅。每次去奥斯威戈，我们都会特意留出时间去那里用餐。
