点评:Amazing hike - but I would definitely do at sunrise!
I did hike in March, sunrise 7.50am.
Started at 4.30am, I’m slow up hill, but in reasonable fitness, and with a couple of photo and layer removal/re-dress/quick bite stops, I was at the summit by 7.30am. I could have started a bit earlier for an actual rest and serious watch of sunrise, but it’s freezing and windy at summit, and not pleasant to sit there anyway.
I almost didn’t do the summit because I was so exhausted, but I was glad that I did! Well worth the view.
The walking path was good, but the uphill was HARD going. Such a workout. Downhill was still tiring. Took about 2hrs 15m to get down.
You need a lot of water, the up hill is relentless, but if you take at own pace (for me - slow!), it honestly goes quicker than I thought!
As I walked down I saw all the people walking up who started around 7/8 am and it looked HOT. It was a bit unpleasant coming down in the heat, so aside from the view I’d say most definitely head up for sunrise time!
