点评：Velneshwar Village is one of the unique Village in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, which attracts , nature lovers and trekkers. This temple is an ancient temple that draws devotees, especially during the Maha Shivaratri festival. The Velneshwar Shiva temple is located right at the mouth of the way leading to the Velneshwar Beach.
This temple is believed to be one of the ancient temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and his consort Goddess Parvati Earlier the temple was built by Gadgils and was later renovated by Sri Trimbak Ravaji Gokhale.
The name Velneshwar has one interesting origin. This God instantly fulfils the wish expressed by his devotees. So the God who does not waste any time of his devotee is known as Vel-n-ishwar. Velneshwar is family deity of Gokhales, Gargils, Savarkars of Maharashtra.
If One prefers a beach with a religious flavour then Velneshwar is the ideal place to Visit, where you can visit temple and had blessings along with beach side peaceful time pass.
