Do yourself a favour, play these small hidden gems

点评：A group of friends and I spent a couple of days up in Fife playing the local golf courses that get overlooked in the conversations when planning trips away around St. Andrews.
On our second day, we were fortunate to play this absolute hidden gem. The front nine, which is still comparatively young at 30 years, is a lovely layout which is maturing very nicely. It has some quirky par 3’s and good par fours which make use of the local terrain.
The real eye-opener is when you hit the original nine-hole layout on the back nine. I can honestly say when I can’t remember playing such an enjoyable stretch of golf holes as was presented on the back nine at St Michaels. Yes, the part 315 is the signature hole. But to be honest, the whole back nine was good fun. Even on a day which had winds which gusted over 30 miles an hour, I really couldn’t care about the scores. It was just great to play such an enjoyable course.
