点评:The most enjoyable parts of this visit were the colorful self-guided map included with the $12.50 admission and the two very kind ladies who greeted us at the entrance.
Unfortunately, everything else felt like a waste of both time and money.
We drove an hour and a half from Orlando hoping to find a hidden gem off the beaten path. In hindsight, we should have taken that phrase more literally—there seems to be a reason this place isn’t well-traveled.
Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens is a former limestone quarry that was ambitiously transformed into a garden oasis. While the concept is interesting and I’m sure it may once have been impressive, the current condition tells a different story. Much of the property appears neglected and in serious disrepair, making the experience underwhelming rather than adventurous.
You honestly get a better sense of the property by viewing the map and photos online than by making the trip in person.
The staff is friendly, and it’s clear there are workers trying to make repairs and improvements, but in our opinion, it will take far more investment and restoration to make this a worthwhile destination again.
Save your time and money for now.
