Instead of tackling the long climb up from the waterfront, the lift takes you straight up to Upper Barrakka Gardens in seconds. It’s quick, simple, and honestly feels like a bit of a hidden travel hack if you’re arriving by ferry or cruise.
The views on the way up are lovely, and stepping out right by Upper Barrakka Gardens means you’re immediately in one of the best viewpoints in the city.
It’s especially useful if you’re coming from the Three Cities ferry or cruise port area, saving a lot of energy for the rest of your day. Accessibility-wise, it makes a huge difference and is far more practical than trying to manage all the steps in the heat.
