Heysham Nuclear Power Station Tour的点评
点评：I did this tour about 9 years ago with my daughter on a quiet weekend. This time it was with my son on a weekday and was a little different to what I remember - first surprise was the rammed full car park and having to find the overflow parking, the second surprise was a very informative presentation as a preclude to the tour - this was an excellent explanation of how the power station works using brilliant down to earth analogies.
Obviously security is exceptionally high and safety paramount so a fair amount of preparation was required to get through security clearance, ID checks and ensure everyone had the right security gear. This is to be expected and for me only served to make the build-up to the tour more exciting!
The tour was excellent, not too difficult a walk and was ideally time for my son who is in Year 11 doing his GCSE's. The guides did not rush at all and made sure to allow people time to ask questions. I loved walking through the turbine room with the immense rumble of the turbines and generators even with wearing the ear protection. Thoroughly Recommended.
