We loved Rouen, despite the walking tours that clog the streets.

点评：We only spent 24 hours in Rouen, May 7-8, 2026 , as were were on a road trip between Luxembourg and Le Mont St. Michel, so Rouen was an overnight stop. We really made the most of our time there. Our hotel was just one block from the market square. Of course Rouen is most well known for the final resting place of Joan Of Arc. She is highly memorialized here, and the sad circumstances of her death. Today though, this town is very lively, great old architecture, cobblestone streets, great cathedral, an ancient astronomical clock, fun cafes and restaurants. Many unique shops and friendly people. Our only irritation was of the multitude of walking tours, constantly clogging up the streets when they stop while the tour guide gives a spiel. Others have trouble getting by them and it ruins the splendid quality of the town.
