点评:Wildfire Ranch is excellent for anyone who prefers character over a more cookie-cutter Holiday Inn type of travel experience. The trail ride was a blast. I've felt guilty on other rides because the horses looked dead-eyed and worn. Cynthia and Bobby baby their horses. They were healthy and happy creatures and were well behaved on our ride. I hadn't read the other reviews until after I stayed at the ranch and was surprised to read some of the "religion-pushing" comments. We did not experience that. There were stories shared by all, and some universal values such as trying to help others, but no indoctrinating. We experienced a misty-morning breakfast on a terrace overlooking the pasture and rolling hills, chatting with other happy returning visitors, Bobby, the stable manager, happily talking to the horses as he brought them in for our ride, and Cynthia, the owner was a great example for my nineteen year old daughter. She drove a horse trailer with six horses loaded down curvy mountain roads to the trail head. Bobby was a passenger. Loved Bobby, but was glad Cynthia showed she was every bit as capable as a dude driving a rig and didn't simply turn it all over to him. "My" horse, Phoenix was a rockstar. He was responsive and happy to be ridden. He only got a little ticked when I asked him to give Cynthia and her horse some space as he obviously adored her. That's the only thing that kept me from popping him in my trunk and taking him home with me. My daughter and I went to sleep with the windows open and were woken around midnight by some sort of animal scream. We had a good laugh and agreed we had gotten a bonus Chuppa-cobra experience. We loved it as we felt we were really experiencing rural Pennsylvania rather than a more homogenous ride/stay experience. Also, Wildfire Ranch would be an amazing artist's retreat with its great light and inspiring landscape.
