Pilgrim的点评
点评：I'd always wanted to try sailing on a classic ship and Pilgrim really didn't disappoint. She's an amazing vessel and hits the perfect balance of being historically accurate on deck but with suitable modern comforts below.
I was on board for three nights and was amazed how much was fitted in. Lots of time at sea under sail, peace and quiet moored up river, evening meals with a nicely set table on deck, swimming from the ship, and all the excitement and spectacle of Dartmouth regatta. An added bonus was getting incredibly close to dolphins as they leapt from the water right beside Pilgrim. One of many magic moments.
The crew really made the trip. Richard was a knowledgeable Skipper, Maia (apologies if I've spelt that wrong) was incredible balancing working the ship as Mate and creating the most delicious meals in the tiny galley. I have a lot of intolerances and had brought my own food but Maia insisted on catering to me and I ate better on board than I have in months. Jake was great fun, Jo gave a brilliant history lesson on the ship and I leant loads from Mark. All the crew are clearly very passionate about Pilgrim and just generally lovely people to be around. When there was a medical emergency on board they were all incredible and worked like a well oiled machine, getting the sails down and the boat headed for port while liaising with emergency services and helping the patient.
My bunk was very comfortable and cosy, the toilets and showers were way nicer than I expected and everywhere was so clean and tidy. I couldn't recommend a trip on Pilgrim more highly and very much hope to return.
