Chieftains Museum / Major Ridge Home的点评
点评：The museum represents one of the most important places and times for the Cherokee leading to the removal and Trail of Tears. The home is nicely maintained both on the exterior and interior. My criticism relates the the exhibits. Many cases are empty and the ones with materials do not necessarily portray the signicance of Ridge in the history of the Cherokee and his pivotal role. The focus is on Ridge's role as a successful farmer and businessman and the evolution of the house. The short film needs closed captioning and a slower narration.
The upstairs exhibits reflect the sequence of ownership after Ridge's death.
The museum entry fees at $10 for adults with discounted fees for seniors and children are exorbitant for the museum content.
A gem in the rough that with some changes and additions could be a worthy stop.
