Average beach at best but a great gateway base for better islands
奥南海滩的点评
点评：We visited Ao Nang Beach during the low season in August. It wasn't overly packed or chaotic at all, and it's nice to have a stroll next to, but the beach itself is average at best.
While it is sandy, it has a lot of stones and unfortunately there was a fair bit of rubbish around. The strip of sand is also quite slim.
We didn't actually play or spend a proper beach day here, as we found that the nearby Noppharat Thara Beach is a much better choice for that.
Ao Nang's main strength is simply that the area serves as a fantastic base and a brilliant gateway for taking long-tail boats out to much better beaches nearby, such as Railay Beach and the Phi Phi Islands.
During our visit, we walked all the way down to the far end of the bay where the Monkey Trail begins. The views of the towering green cliffs dropping straight into the ocean are absolutely beautiful.
The monkeys here are completely fearless and very aggressive.
We watched them actively trying to snatch bags and food straight out of people's hands.
I believe they would bite you if given half a chance. I
