The local gym to go to when in Playa del Inglés.
Urban Gym Maspalomas Athletic Center的点评
点评：The ultimate 'old school' type of gym, with great opening hours and affordable prices. The equipment is a bit outdated, but fully functional. Free weights < 10kg are scarce, but > 10 kg there's plenty, up till 50 kg dumbbells.
Relaxed atmosphere, friendly, Spanish speaking, staff, music not too loud. No air conditioning, just ventilation by fans, so expect it to be it warmer than in the gym at home. Most visitors are locals.
The venue has coin-operated lockers available at € 1, which is refunded after use.
Vending machines can provide you liter bottles of mineral water at local, i.e. non-tourist, prices.
Personally, I fully enjoyed my sessions at Urban Gym.
The downsides:
1) the high number of 'gym zombies' occupying equipment whilst watching/texting/messaging mobile devices.
2) the local habit of 'reserving' equipment by putting a towel on it, whilst using other equipment or whilst talking to other visitors. A bit like German tourists around a hotel's swimming pool reserving sunbeds for use later on the same day.
