点评：Udzungwa Mountains National Park is an absolute hidden gem in Tanzania. Unlike the traditional vehicle safaris, this park is strictly for hiking. Hiking up to the Sanje Waterfalls was the absolute highlight—trrekking through dense canopy rainforest, spotting endemic monkeys like the Udzungwa red colobus, and finishing with a refreshing swim in the plunge pools at the top of the falls with breathtaking views over the Kilombero Valley.
Admission Fee & CostThe park conservation fee is around $30 USD (plus VAT) per adult for non-residents. A mandatory park ranger or guide costs around $20 USD per day for the group. It is very reasonably priced compared to Tanzania’s northern circuit parks, especially given how exclusive and undisturbed the environment feels.
Length of Visit
Plan for a half-day to full-day visit if you are doing the Sanje Falls trail. The hike itself takes about 4 to 5 hours return depending on your pace and how long you spend swimming and relaxing at the waterfall. Multi-day treks are also available for avid hikers.
Atmosphere
Lush, peaceful, and wild. The rainforest canopy keeps things cool and shaded for much of the hike, filled with the sounds of flowing water, bird calls, and rustling trees. It feels truly pristine and untamed.
