I ordered scrambled eggs on toast, fully expecting a sensible, restrained experience. Reader, it was not. The sourdough was one of those life-altering situations, all crunchy and buttery and basically demanding a moment of silence, and the eggs were so light and fluffy I briefly considered asking for their skincare routine. Then, in a moment of complete loss of self-control, I got a scone. I regret nothing. Mainly because I couldn’t choose between the cakes, all of which were staring at me like delicious little temptations.
If you are anywhere near the road to Merimbula, you have to stop here. I’m already planning a return trip purely for the coffee, which was so good it made me question every other coffee I’ve ever had.
