点评:My wife and I just returned from a week exploring Glacier National Park in Northwest Montana. In planning our trip, we decided to use a guide for hiking, and rafting. In addition, we were hoping to find a place to rent bikes and explore at least some of Glacier that way. After some research, it was obvious that Glacier Guides and Montana raft was our best option. After talking to one of the agents on the phone and reading through their website, I was able to book bike rental, nature walk, rafting trip, and a day hike to East Glacier part of the park all through this company. They were magnificent in every phase, but in this review, let me discuss the Glacier Guides Two Medicine Lake hike.
The two of us have gone on a nature walk, a scenic float, bike rental trip using their map of the park's bike trail with Glacier Guides. Our last trip before ending our weeklong journey at Glacier National was to see the Eastern side (at least a fraction of it) by taking the Glacier Guides Monday day hike to Two Medicine Lake. The day hikes are an early morning wakeup since you need to meet your guides at the Glacier Guides office by 7:00 AM. There were seven other people going on the hike besides my wife and I. We had two guides to show us the way Natalie and Layne. This is our second time with Layne who really knows his flora. Natalie was an experienced hiking guide, and both were so friendly. Following the mandatory safety talk, we were off. The van ride to the Two Medicine trailhead was about ninety minutes with some road construction along the way. They stopped at a public rest area halfway in case anyone needed to get rid of some coffee.
When we arrived, the lot was getting pretty crowded. The lake which also has a boat rental facility there, is right next to the lot. The trailhead began close to the lake. The hike is about four miles, and it has some elevation walking. It is an up and back hike with several opportunities to see wildlife such as moose with small ponds along the trail. Even with our best moose calls, they just would not give us a photo opportunity. We went to Astor Falls, then started up to Astor Park (not sure of that name) to see views of the Lake and surrounding mountains. Awesome. Layne and Natalie took turns leading and explaining what we were seeing. So cool to have knowledge people who enjoy their job. After walking down the path, they took us to Paradise Point where we ate our bagged lunch provided for us by the company. It is not a small lunch. Have not had Fritos for over fifty years. The spot is a rocky beach area right on the lake. After we finished, we completed the hike and came out to the parking lot. Another pit stop and we were heading home. So happy we got a chance to see some of the Eastern side of the park. Far less people too. Thanks again to Glacier Guides and specifically Natalie and Layne for their expertise and being good people.
