点评:We read this was the best snorkeling. We arrived near the landfill, past a house and down a very bumpy dirt rock road. We arrived at a locked chain with the signs for the marine sanctuary. We weren’t sure what to do and drove back up to the house and somebody there told us to go back down to the chains and honk, and somebody would come out and greet us. After a couple minutes waiting gentlemen walked down and unlock the gates. It was $10 per person to come in drive up the driveway to park and then hike down to the snorkeling area. The family was very kind, and the father and a little girl walked us on part of the trail to make sure we got to the right area.
They have signage on the walkdown telling you about the Marine sanctuary and things that you’ll see and it’s somewhat steep on the way down to the very small beach. They have ropes in order to help assist although we did not need them. Get sturdy walking or hiking shoes would be important.
We arrived to a very small beach in a secluded area. The waves are relatively big, and the seas were quite rough. My husband went ahead and tried to snorkel, but the waves continued to pound him and stir up the sand. I was very difficult to see marine life.
On our return lady was waiting for us and said she’d heard the waves crashing. probably not an ideal day for snorkeling. I imagine it’d be quite beautiful on a calm day.
