点评:PSA for North Shore moms considering Connors Farm in Danvers — because I genuinely wish I’d known this before taking my kids today.
We paid $80 for four admissions — me, my husband and our two young kids. About 10 minutes after we arrived, we realized my two-year-old’s wristband had fallen off somewhere inside the farm.
I went to the front desk and showed them the $80 transaction. But here’s what makes this completely insane: the employee at the desk remembered us and said, verbatim, “Yes, I remember you got four tickets, and I watched you put it on him.”
So there was no actual question about whether we’d paid.
They called over the man pictured below. Despite his own employee standing there confirming that we bought four tickets AND that she personally watched me put the wristband on my two-year-old, he repeatedly insisted that because my son wasn’t currently wearing it, we hadn’t paid for him.
I showed him the payment. His employee confirmed the purchase. He kicked our entire family out anyway.
We had been there for approximately 10 minutes.
And then it gets even more ridiculous.
A friend of mine was still inside after we left. She later texted me the second photo below: SHE FOUND MY TWO-YEAR-OLD’S PURPLE WRISTBAND LYING ON THE GROUND.
Exactly where it had fallen off. Exactly as I’d told them.
They told us they’re refunding the $80, which I’ll obviously confirm when it actually posts. But the money isn’t really the point. A toddler losing a paper wristband should have been a 30-second customer-service issue — especially when an employee personally remembered selling us the ticket and putting eyes on the wristband.
Instead, we were treated like we were lying about paying for our two-year-old and removed in front of our kids.
Afterward I searched the farm online and was also pretty shocked to find older posts with other customers describing negative treatment and allegations of discrimination. I can’t speak to experiences I didn’t personally witness and I’m not presenting those allegations as fact, but I’m including the screenshot because I wish I’d looked into other people’s experiences before we went.
Sharing because there are a million wonderful family places on the North Shore, and other parents can decide for themselves whether this is somewhere they want to spend their money.
Photos: the man who made the decision to remove us; the missing wristband my friend subsequently found on the ground; and the older public comments I found afterward.
