Nepal Alternative Treks & Expeditions的点评
点评：Our ten day Manaslu circuit with Nepal Alternative Treks and Expeditions was brilliant and we were in very good hands with the trekking team. Our guide Nauser was amazing, with deep local knowledge, genuine care and a real understanding of the challenge we were facing. Every night he talked us through the day we had shared and the day to come with meticulous attention. I can honestly say that we would have struggled to complete the circuit without Nauser and seeing other guides in the shared tea houses it was clear we had the A Team!
In advance of the trek Tej (Alternative MD) was good on communication and met us for a pre trek briefing in Kathmandu that set out all the basics and answered all our questions. I should also mention that Sanjay our porter was equally terrific – strong, friendly and always willing.
If I have any criticism its a general one about the way that the system of tips works. I would much rather that trekking companies pay their staff in a way where tips are optional based on exceptional service rather than a (pretty much) obligatory top up of guide/porter wages. We would have tipped our team for sure but its all a bit awkward and one gets the feeling that (although we're paying the company a lot of money) the staff still seem reliant on tips?
