点评：No trip through Diddly Squat country is complete without a stop at Hawkstone, and on a manic bank holiday weekend we duly joined the pilgrimage. Early arrival was the move here — we beat the holiday traffic and walked straight into a table for a tasting paddle, no queuing required.
Manage your expectations on the “attraction” front. Unless you’ve booked a tour ahead of time, there isn’t a huge amount to actually do — this is a brewery, not a theme park, and I reckon that’s exactly how it should be.
The boys enjoyed a beer from the tasting paddle while the wife went for the fresh chocolate cow juice — turns out that was the real find of the visit. Not just a novelty for the kids, either; genuinely good.
T-Rex reckons - get there early, especially on a long weekend. Book a tour in advance if you want more than a sit-down and a paddle. Otherwise, treat it as a relaxed halfway stop on the wider Clarkson trail rather than a destination in its own right.
