Kalimba Reptile Park的点评
点评：The rain stopped in morning and we had few hours to burn.We were craving some' green therapy ' after all that traffic of Lusaka so decided to go to Kalimba.
And I am glad we went.
The road to Kalimba is in good condition.There is hardly any dirt road as it's close to main road.Good parking space.
The ticket is K 120 for adults. The reception area has displays with various local.products as well at products made from.crocodile skin and fat.There is a freezer where you can but crocodile burgers and crocodile kebabs.
Outside the reception is a well maintained lawn with a lot of gazebos and benches to relax.On the right side are the snake enclosures.By this time one of the employees came to guide us and we are glad as he explained the habits of snakes from brown snake to black mamba.
The python pit and Gaboon adder pit are out in open as these are non climbing snakes.
I feel it's important for our kids to be exposed to all the information about snakes as they are important for a healthy ecosystem.
There are enclosures for baby Nike crocodile,snout nose luapula crocodile.leopard tortoise and Chameleon.
We proceeded to see the huge Nile crocodile in the 4-5 ponds which are well fenced.
All around the ponds were white egrets which were nesting in this season and you could see the white greyish fluffy babies too.
You can do fishing with the locally made fishing rod.
There is restaurant which offeres good choice of food- even had a vegetarian cheese tomato bun for me.
Overall a good experience and parents should bring their kids here to teach them about reptiles.
