Experience Grand Bahama Island with Hida的点评
点评：I booked an all-day excursion with Hida Ingraham-Kempski for February 7, 2025. She had coordinated with a local birding guide, who unfortunately was ill. This was not a problem since I had already gone on two birding trips.
We first visited the farmer’s market, where we had Brenda’s conch fritters, the best on the island. We also visited the various vendor stalls. Hida is a true local and knows everyone! Next, we stopped at several beaches, including one with a lot of conch shells. Perfect picture-taking opportunities.
We went to Garden of the Groves, which was very enjoyable, and where we were able to do some birdwatching. We spent quite a bit of time there, but we planned on visiting the east end, so we made our way along the coast. She showed me a neighborhood described as the Beverly Hills of the Bahamas, with luxurious estates. She took me to various local settlements as well. Further up the road, Hida showed me the Causarina Bridge, the high point of the island, where people were rescued from Hurricane Dorian in 2019. She is very knowledgeable about the history of the island.
We wrapped up our day with a picnic lunch that she prepared herself. It was great getting to know Hida and spending the day with her. She will arrange your tour so you can visit places of particular interest to you. I highly recommend her tour.
