Perhaps the most famous view on the entire island of Corfu.

点评：That this monastery "suspended" over the water may have been inspired by an act of the god Poseidon, namely, the petrification of the Phaeacians' ship returning from bringing Odysseus home, is an indication of how much this unique location of the islet and the monastery captured the imagination.
Indeed, what most impressed me (and perhaps also impressed the first observers) was the monastery's unusual position, just above the water. This position, I imagine, is permitted by the nature of the gulf in which the islet stands, protected from the open sea's high waves. Its location, in fact, is a lagoon.
This combination of circumstances, and also the contrast between the reddish color of the tiles and the white plaster of the monastery against the blue water, makes it perhaps the most famous view on the entire island of Corfu.
