点评:Buscot Weir was one of the scenic stops on our Lechlade - Buscot walk along the Thames Path.
We crossed over the weir, stopping on top of the lock gates to watch the water cascade over a small waterfall, into the weir pool.
A well- maintained lawn surrounds the weir. It would be a nice spot for a picnic.
I believe that wild swimming is popular here too. You can swim in the large pond-like area created by the weir. It looked easy enough to enter the weir at several points along the bank, although we didn’t see anyone doing it.
Starting from upstream, Buscot is only the second lock on the Thames (the first is St John’s). Of the 45 locks, it’s the smallest.
Depending on your timing, you might get lucky and see the lock in operation, with the sluice gates opening and shutting to let boats through. Although no boats came through when we were there, we'd already seen the lock in action at St John’s lock.
