A nice experience!
Hambledon Vineyard的点评
点评：Visited as a family in late December. Hambledon village, the vineyards and surrounding are all lovely, postcard picturesque, particularly on a sunny, crisp day. The tour of the estate was nice, with detailed explanations of the wine making process, Hambledon’s evolution and the English winemaking market. The tour guide was fine, if a little intense.
The wine tasting (3 glasses) and the cheese and charcuterie boards were just OK. Rose cuvée was our favourite, a little spoilt by the fact that I only got half-a-glass and had to ask to be topped up to the same level as the others.
Throughout, the guide was reminding us that we were not allowed to go to the bar after the tasting (no prior notice), as there was a private event happening. This was unfortunate as we had a couple of guests who we agreed would meet us there. As a nice goodwill gesture our guests got a little bit of wine to try.
Lastly, as we tried to enjoy our wines in the tasting room, we were being urged to finish asap, so they could prepare for the afternoon tasting session. Perhaps worth rethinking the timing of events, particularly if the bar is not available?
All in all, a 4 rating, could have easily been a 5, without the niggles above. Definitely worth a visit.
