点评：Traveling the Trent & Mersey Canal, where a visit to the fantastic Mercia Marina is a must. The Marina is a beautiful place. So many good points to detail. The Marina entrance is adjacent to the canal, well signed and after going under a bridge their is a cafe barge to your right worthy of numerous visits. Great food / snacks and beverages.
The village complex is then visible on your left. The best chandlery I have seen. Numerous shops and eating places. The pub restaurant has a good select of drinks and food. On my recent visit, live free music was playing. Excellent musicians. A food shop is their for essentials and also an Indian restaurant. Clothing shop amongst others is on the promenade as is the Marina office with a number of staff running the day to day needs of a large number of boats / residents. The staff are very helpful and friendly. As a visitor on a visitor mooring, I was made very welcome and given all the guidance needed to enjoy the visit to the full. Customer service was above & beyond. Boat repair & maintence services are also on site.
The Marina has a circular walk secured by gated entry. A few toilet / shower blocks are within the gated area, so boaters are well catered for. A lovely tea room is also within the gated area. The overall atmosphere is one of peace and tranquility.
A second shopping complex building is in progress to further enhance the village experience.
A further visit is required as their is more to explore of the extensive facilities. Check out the Marina website for further detail and information.
