点评:As one of the local zebras in the park, I love seeing James on the dirt roads absolutely hauling it to give his customers a good view of the other animals here. I usually try to greet him with my friends at one of the gates, assuming I’m not busy running from one of the lions. James can always sniff out where the leopards and lions are, which is great since that makes it easy to avoid them. He even gave me a ride once when I called one of the water buffaloes “Tsavo’s Meals on Wheels”. Those guys really don’t like zebra humor.
James really is one of the best guides at Tsavo, and you’ll likely see him answer calls from the less experienced drivers asking where my neighbors are. Us zebras often hear “guidare più velocemente” from the back of safari cars, but never from James’s passengers. I have even checked with the giraffes and they said they’d book a tour with James if only they could fit in his car. If you want a great time at Tsavo National Park, go with James. He’ll show you all the animals (as long as you bring him snacks) and you get to experience what near lightspeed feels like when he floors it to get to a sighting.
