点评:The place must be stunning but we were not allowed to go there. Be aware that the trail from Mongui is officially open again since December 8. 2025 as they came to an agreement between the regional governement organización in charge of this regional park and the private landowners of the area. They established a scheme where you have to pay 100.000 pesos per person to go there which is way over the top compared to other parks in Colombia. Only a small part goes actually to the guide, probably another small part to private landowners, pretty sure nothing to the community. No idea where the money ends up. Also they do pretty much nothing to preserve the area even if they tell you so. There are still fraylejones cut down but locals to plant potatoes. Those fraylejones grow by one centimeter every year so imagine the harm done to the environment and how long it would take to recuperate. My advice is under the actual conditions: don’t go! Don’t pay into this scheme which is privatizing natural patrimonial and giving your money into the wrong hands! To make it short, and since this happens all over Colombia, this is a great country with a lot of attractions which are pretty much all tourificated out of private interests/greed, but it is not a place or country for real adventures when it comes to hiking and discovering mountains and natural places. Better go to other countries for that!
