点评：Sadly needs a lot of work doing to bring this garden back. Today the weather was beautiful. We were greeted at the entrance by the owner & presented with a laminated sheet containing details of the areas in the garden. The shrubs at the front had been nicely cut & I commented on this, being a professional gardener myself. Slightly confusing around some of the route but there were a lot of weeds & nettles overhanging the pathway , I nearly got stung by them on my arms. Not quite what I expected as this garden has such a high rating & association with the RHS. There were some very nice plants around the garden , but the seats were in a terrible condition , they need jet washing & teak oiling , who would want to sit on them, covered in dirt & nettles growing through them . It’s such a shame , not much zen going on as it requires a total overhaul & spruce up throughout, a good sweep would have made a world of difference , & more staff . A walk around first thing, daily by the owner , identifying nettles & hazards to visitors would be a good idea. Also hiding the behind the scenes areas of mountains of dirty plant pots & things visitors really don’t want to see. The loo was very nice & clean & nice soap at the clean sink, but the floor hadn’t seen a mop in a very long time & there was no paper towels to dry hands on. All these things a basic daily necessity for paying visitors. The bonsai displays at the end were lovely , & plant sales area . However, extortionate price for a small Kit Kat & serve yourself drinks. This unique garden could be magnificent with a few improvements , not to look immaculate, but cared for , instead of looking run down & under staffed. I was very disappointed & the owner was dealing with four guests requiring hot drinks when we left , so I was unable to voice my concerns, especially stinging nettles on the route through.
