点评:This is a great hike off the Roaring Fork Motor Way. The parking area does fill up quickly, so be prepared to get there early, or park farther away and walk. Also plan ahead for a parking pass, because there is not ability to get one nearby. The trail is 2.7 miles to the falls, and does not loop, so you will need to come back the same way if not continuing further to another trail. The trail there is all uphill, covering about 1500 feet in elevation. We were there in August, so the falls did not have a lot of water, but still worth seeing. There are rocks to sit on if wanting to picnic a lunch. There are also several other smaller waterfalls or streams visible on the way, making it a beautiful walk. It is moderately strenuous with the uphill and roots/rocks. I would say it was easier than the alum cave trail due to being less steep. It is primarily wooded, so most of the views are of the forests and streams of the mountains, with some intermittent views of the mountains in more open areas. It took us 2 hours to get up, and 1 hour to get back down. I would recommend good hiking shoes with ankle support, lots of water, and snacks.
