Agios Nektarios Monastery的点评
点评：We had a rented car, and this monastery was right beside the road when we returned to the town of Aegina after visiting the temple of Aphaia, so it made sense to stop here. It was a worthwhile stop.
We made the mistake of parking at the upper parking lot rather than the lower one right by the church, but actually this worked out well. (Parking is free at either location). It means that you start your visit in the area of the actual Monastery, which covers the upper part of the site. It is nicely landscaped and very quiet. Some areas are off-limits to visitors, of course. From here you make your way down past a small store and chapel, then walk down a series of landscaped ramps to get to the actual church. The best view of the church is actually from above, as you walk down the ramps.
The church itself is interesting and quite beautiful, but not old, having been built in 1904-1910. Right now much of the interior is covered with scaffolding. When we were there it was not crowded at all, but according to some of the reviews here it can be crowded at times.
I also learned something on this visit. There were an intriguing series of buildings visible on the hillside behind the upper parking lot. It turns out that this is the Archaeological Site Palaeochora of Aegina, an abandoned medieval town which was at one time the capital of Aegina Island. if I were to return, I would combine a visit here with a visit to the archeological site, which apparently is free to enter, and which can be visited by a one to two hour circular hike which starts from near to the upper parking lot. We did not have time to visit the site this time, but definitely will next time we are in Aegina Island. The site looks very intriguing.

这次参观还让我学到了一些东西。在上层停车场后方的山坡上，有一排十分引人注目的建筑。后来我得知，那里就是埃伊纳岛的古遗址帕莱奥霍拉，是一座废弃的中世纪城镇，曾经还是埃伊纳岛的首府。如果我再回去的话……我打算把参观此地与游览考古遗址结合起来。据说该遗址免费开放，从上方的停车场附近出发，沿着环形路线徒步一到两小时便可抵达。这次我们没有时间去参观，但下次再来埃伊纳岛时一定不会错过。那个遗址看起来非常有趣呢。
