ELIJAH: Powerful Production, But Could Shine Brighter for Families 🤔
Ohio Star Theater at Dutch Valley的点评
点评：We have enjoyed many Sight & Sound productions over the years and have always been impressed by the music, staging, creativity, and overall quality. Elijah at the Ohio Star Theater in Sugarcreek certainly had some of those same strong elements, including excellent vocals, creative scenes, and a very well-maintained theater.
🤔 However, this production felt darker than we expected. Elijah’s story is full of faith, courage, provision, and God’s power, but at times the show seemed to focus more heavily on the disturbing elements connected to Baal and Jezebel. Those scenes may be unsettling for some families or guests who are expecting a more uplifting biblical production.
👍 There were some very good moments. “Hidden Embers” was a powerful musical number, and the widow of Zarephath scene was encouraging, positive, and very well done. Those parts were meaningful and reflected the kind of inspirational message we usually appreciate in these productions.
We attended on opening night, so it is fair to mention that there were also a few lighting and sound issues. Hopefully those will be corrected as the show continues.😉

While we appreciated the effort and quality of the production, this particular show was not quite as uplifting or family-oriented as we had hoped. A little less emphasis on the darker scenes and more focus on the faith and hope in Elijah’s story would make it much stronger.
