点评：Is the Cherry Lane Garden Centre and Café Retford/Gainsborough going down hill? Lovely garden centre and lovely staff but recently feel café and general cleanliness of the cafe and toilet area going downhill. Some of the plants looked neglected also. It's a shame to see standards slowly dropping as visited many times, also when it was Citrus café as it used to be spotless but unfortunately not now. All the lemon trees are gone and replaced with cheap plastic plants in the café area. The food and drinks in the café were hot. However very depressing looking and disappointingly small cakes. Cakes looked very dry with little choice for sale and cakes appeared to be cut up into unbelievably small portions and left sitting and drying out all day so decided not to buy cake. Quiches and pasties looked nice but opted for sausage and mash instead which was hot apart from the gravy..and cheesy chips. The chips were acceptable temperature but could be hotter..portions sizes below average. The seat we sat on was upholstered and extremely badly stained and quite disgusting. Toilets used to be spotless but paintwork and general cleanliness and maintenance lacking in toilets and cafe. Management need to employ a better cleaner. Elbow grease and a good scrub could soon fix the cleanliness issue and management fail to see how much customers notice cleanliness and presentation. Dread to think about the cleanliness of food preparation areas? Off putting to keep returning to café so may try other places nearby next time for food.
