点评:Isaak Levitan (1860-1900) was a Russian painter, working primarily in the genre of the "mood landscape". He was a baptized Jew and he spent many years in Plyos.
I dunno if the guy ever climbed that stuff, but I did it in early September. It was a challenge, but the effort was well worth it! The place offers a unique opportunity to admire the powerful, deep blue Volga River at its best. Awesome pictures are guaranteed.
There's a small wooden church on top, surrounded by what seems to be an ancient cemetery with mostly wooden crosses. They create a pleasant bucolic atmosphere, but one should know that none of those items actually belong there. In other words, they were brought from other regions of Russia. They are really old, however.
Try to do the climb in good weather and please keep in mind that there isn't much shade up there. You won't find a food kiosk or a WC around either. A couple of benches and a bin will most probably be present.
In any case, highly recommended.
