点评：My boyfriend and I travel extensively all over the world. And I have been lucky enough to try out some of the worlds best spas and treatments. This place is top tier, has to be best in the country if not, in the world. This was our third year in a row at Sea Island and I am greatly looking forward to our stay again, next year. My boyfriend treated me to a day at the spa this year and besides booking the services, I took full advantage of the spa facilities and I’m so glad I did. The spa is a true 5 star spa experience: everything from making your appointment, to the grandeur of the architecture, to the thoughtful amenities, to the consideration of comfort, relaxation and luxury offered in the details of every point of service. There’s a beautiful “Rotunda” fountain (of youth??) in the entrance of the spa, after you pass the coy pond on both sides of the entrance path bridge. The water from that fountain runs like a stream through an intricately designed rock filter in the floor of the entire spa. This is very easy to overlook yet, extremely delightful architectural detail captures the true essence of a spa. If you’re as lucky as I was to have the time and take the time to swim in the indoor spa pool, you might take notice that the water from said fountain naturally drains into that indoor pool and then the pool water drains into a lower level waterfall that you can access via the pool area. The waterfall has several little seats so you can sit directly under it to enjoy some extra water therapy massage from the “fountain of youth falls”. While you sit your view doesn’t get much better than overlooking the peaceful, breathtaking, outdoor tropical garden and labrynth. I walked the labrynth twice after my swim and as they say: “one never leaves a labrynth as the same person that enters”. All is surrounded by lush, tropical landscaping. Everything in the locker room was as expected it would be for a spa of this caliber. There was an extra service desk inside our locker room with helpful attendants who tend to all of your whims, schedule or reschedule you, and eagerly wait on you can even order you a healthy delicious gourmet chef prepared meal. For me, starting my services off in the mineral soaking tub is the best way to go because it warms you up and all the minerals are absorbed by the skin but whichever body service you enjoy, seals the minerals into your skin for longer lasting results. Tim was my masseur and every touch, every stroke of his hands and arms was pure and intentional and extremely relaxing and invigorating in a way that you just don’t experience from a typical massage therapist. This guys touch is intoxicating and though I opted for 90 minutes I would have asked for more if I could. The facial was also 90 minutes with Darianne. My skin was still glowing for days after my treatment. The gift shop was also a treat as I found this gorgeous silk dress which doubled for me as my dress for our dinner event with the Gov. The spa retail shop attendants were super knowledgable about the products and the products themselves were of great quality, results oriented and natural ingredients. I found out later that the buyer for the spa has a background in the medical industry so she’s super keen on choosing the newest (its always exciting to discover new skincare that you love and to bring home an extension of my unforgettable spa day with ALL my new products), most effective, natural products with science based results and the retail attendant was super friendly and helpful. I’m greatly looking forward to visiting Sea Island next year and I’ll be sure book my treatments for earlier in the day and try and stay longer if I can.
