点评:Gifted the wine tasting ‘tour’ and picnic as a birthday gift.
The picnic basket was cute, nice little blanket etc…
They supply wine glasses but no actual drink to go with the picnic (didn’t expect an alcoholic drink but a can of pop/juice perhaps).
We were pointed in the direction of the bar to buy drinks which we did. Paid £27 for a bottle of Flying pig which having paid for we realised we could have bought for £17 literally four steps away from the bar at the what they call cellar door. They say it’s because that is meant to be taken home and not drunk on site. 🤨
That didn’t really go down too well with us I have to say as we sat outside with our picnic on our own blanket.
Food was quite nice apart from some very dried out chopped veggie sticks.
The tour chap was nice (family member/ owner) he was very informative but I wouldn’t call it a tour as such as others have said on previous reviews. We literally stood in one place at the bottom of the field where anyone could stand not just tour goers. They don’t make the wine on site.
It was also super hot so standing in one place in full sun for 25 minutes listening was just not for us.
It was a nice day but probably wouldn’t recommend. We wished we’d just pulled in for a quick peek at the grapes, a glass of wine and then found a pub for lunch.
