点评:Having played the course in both October and November, I was thoroughly impressed by the layout and overall conditions—particularly during the November round, given the rather uncooperative weather beforehand. The course itself was faultless: beautifully presented, stunningly scenic, and in excellent condition throughout.
What stood out even more, however, was the bespoke level of service from the entire team—from the check-in staff to the course marshals, right up to (what I believe is the correct title) the Head of Operations, Andrew Dyce.
Without diving too deep into specifics, our initial round featured a minor hiccup due to a large, slow-moving group ahead of us. The Fairmont team handled the situation brilliantly. They were friendly, attentive, and exceptionally knowledgeable, ultimately giving us the option to move from the Torrance to the Kittocks. As we had already enjoyed the Kittocks earlier in the year, this was hardly a sacrifice—more a pleasant detour.
We did mention that, while we were perfectly happy with the switch (and it truly was a choice, with no pressure whatsoever), we were a touch disappointed not to have finally ticked the Torrance off our list. In response, we were very generously invited back for a complimentary round on the Torrance—a gesture we genuinely appreciated.
Due to timing, winter conditions, and course rotation, our complimentary round once again ended up being played on the Kittocks. This was through no fault of the team, who did absolutely everything they could to get us onto the Torrance; it simply wasn’t meant to be! That said, after now enjoying three fantastic rounds on the Kittocks, I can say without hesitation that the experience shines not just because of the golf, but because of the outstanding customer service.
