点评：will never play here again. Unbelievably RUDE golf shop employee and Instructor. ( Larry & Walter W. Baker III)
I’ve been playing golf for 15 years. 5 of those 15 years I’ve worked as a Golf Course Superintendent of a highly acclaimed golf community/resort. So I feel I’m rather educated on how to enforce and follow golf course rules and etiquette.
Me and 4 of my work colleagues are in the area for 8 weeks. We all enjoy golfing and try to go as much as we can (about twice a week). We are trying different courses around town to find one we like to make it our go to course. So we decided to try Henderson today. We checked in the golf shop in two separate groups due to time restraints. Only rule we were asked to follow was to “return carts by 6:30” so we tees off #1 as a 5some. Understanding golf etiquette and not interfering with others pace of play. There was NOBODY ON THE FRONT NINE.
On the par 4 hole #2 we all tee’d off and approached our 2nd shots. I pulled off the cart path 10feet not seeing the “This hole Cart path only sign”. Mr Walter W. Baker rudely pulled up saying “you didn’t see what the sign?” (Not introducing himself or even saying he’s an employee)
I apologized and said I didn’t see the sign. He then accused me saying I did see the sign and we have to split up because they DO NOT ALLOW 5somes. We then began an argument about how unprofessional he was. I then brushed it off and apologized and said we would split up. He then sat 10 feet away from my cart partner while he was continuing hitting his 2nd shot trying to intimidate us. Which made me believe he wanted to argue and give us a hard time.
We then called Larry in the golf shop to let him know what happened and how we do not appreciate his accusations and unprofessionalism. Larry said, Yeah I sent him out there we DO NOT ALLOW 5somes! We then told him we would not becoming back being treated like we have. Larry said, “Alright, sounds good” pretty much saying they don’t need out buisness.
If we enjoyed our round today and decided to make hendeson our go to course. 5 golfers twice a week - $31 for 18 holes. Is $310/week which is about $2500 over the 8 weeks we will be in the area. That’s how much $ they pissed away treating us like they did. And believe me, this course needs that money to put toward maintenance (fertilizer, herbicide, sod, tee aerification) on the course.
I understand we were wrong by playing a 5some without asking. But the entire situation was highly unprofessional and unbelievably ridiculous. It would have been a lot easier to ask us politely to spilt up. This place does not respect their customers and will not get any more of my money!
