An Amazing Day Exploring the Highlands with James
Scotland Taxi Tours的点评
点评：We had a fantastic day with James Williamson and can highly recommend this tour. We did the North Tour, but in reverse order, which worked perfectly for our day. We started at around 9:30 a.m. and returned to Invergordon at approximately 5:00 p.m., so we had a full day with many different and memorable stops.
Our first destination was the beautiful small town of Dornoch. On the way there, we stopped by the water and were lucky enough to see lots of seals. In Dornoch, we visited the impressive cathedral and also had some time to look around inside.
After that, we continued to Dunrobin Castle, which was definitely one of the highlights of the day. The castle and its gardens are absolutely beautiful. We explored the inside of the castle and also watched the falconry display in the gardens, which was very impressive.
We then drove further through the Scottish Highlands. The scenery along the way was stunning. At another stop, we walked from a visitor centre to some waterfalls and were incredibly lucky to see salmon jumping upstream. We had come at just the right time of year, and it was a really special experience.
Another great stop was a farm with four Highland cows. James knew the owners and the cows, including one called Daisy, so we were able to get quite close and spend some time watching them. This was a very fun and memorable part of the tour.
Later, we visited the famous Millionaire’s View, with its fantastic panorama over the surrounding Highland landscape. We also stopped at another nearby viewpoint, where we had even more beautiful views of the area.
Our final major stop was Balblair Distillery. We received a short introduction to how the whisky is produced and also had the opportunity to buy some whisky to take home.
Throughout the entire day, James was a great guide. The tour included a perfect mixture of wildlife, Highland scenery, local places and interesting stops, and we never felt rushed. We all really enjoyed the day and felt that we had seen a huge amount of the area around Invergordon.
A wonderful way to spend a day in the Scottish Highlands. We would absolutely recommend a tour with James!
