点评:We decided to visit Historic Rosedale when visiting family in Charlotte. What a special place. The history of Rosedale is complicated - it is a former plantation site. But the house itself was lived in until the 1980s. So it has seen a lot of change. We were looking forward to learning more, especially because Historic Rosedale seemed different from the large plantations in Charleston or Louisiana.
The tour guide was very respectful and included stories and information about ALL who lived and forcibly worked there. I felt it was a good balance - sharing the good and the bad.
We enjoyed walking the grounds. We didn't realize there were such pretty gardens until we walked all around. You can get as detailed as you want with the gardens.
I would recommend this for anyone. Young children would probably get bored on the tour but there was a 4th grader in our group who the tour guide made sure to include. It is a nice place to go with a multi-generational group.
Keep in mind, there are plenty of stairs in the house itself.
