点评：Fjaðrárgljúfur is undeniably dramatic. This ancient canyon in South Iceland stretches for around two kilometres, with twisted rock walls rising up to 100 metres on either side of the crystal-clear Fjaðrá river winding along the bottom. On a good day, the scenery is genuinely breathtaking.
That said, expectations need to be managed. The site has become very popular in recent years and can get crowded. The facilities are basic at best, and the walking path, while easy enough, is limited — once you've seen the main viewpoints, there isn't a great deal more to explore.
It's conveniently located off the Ring Road, which is a plus. But if you're travelling the south coast in peak season, be prepared to share the experience with a lot of other people and their camera phones.
Worth a stop if you're passing through, but perhaps not worth going significantly out of your way for unless you time it right. Go early morning for the best chance of having it mostly to yourself.
